Tony's career began at 15 when a family friend introduced him to the fence industry. He later became operations manager at Jetcoat Fence Company, managing residential and commercial fencing, supporting significant growth within the company. At 29, Tony started a gate automation company, growing it into one of the largest distributors in the country. After selling the company, he worked as a regional sales manager for nine years, further advancing industry education.
From 2014 to 2022, Tony served as Executive Director of the American Fence Association, helping grow membership, develop training and certifications, raising industry professionalism. He mentored many companies, identifying common challenges and offering solutions to improve efficiency and profitability.
In 2022 Tony started Thornton Fence Consulting Group (TFCG) focused on enhancing fence company efficiencies and profitability. The success with client consultations has elevated TFDG to be the premier consulting and coaching group in the fence industry and is now expanding into all areas of construction trades.
